Restylane dermal filler treatment review, do they really work?
(Brighton, Sussex, UK)
Restylane dermal fillers are injections that fill up the lower layer of the skin, which is known as the dermis. The epidermis is the top layer and they bypass this to get down into the skin and fill up the lines and wrinkles. I am 52 years old and started having these filler treatments about ten years ago.
The best dermal filler treatment I have discovered in that time is Restylane, which apparently is hyaluronic acid in gel particles. I have tried having other fillers done but have found that the other ones I tried gave a slightly lumpy appearance after application.
Also, Restylane does not need pre-treatment tests as other dermal fillers tend to as hyaluronic acid is found naturally in the skin. This saves time consuming repeat visits to the person doing the treatment. The injections have to be done by someone who is medically qualified and so you can’t do them yourself.
The places I have found these injections to be particularly beneficial is the nose to mouth lines or nasal labials, where the injections smooth out the nasty deep lines I would otherwise have. This is a common area to be treated with dermal fillers.
Also, for me, an area where I found Restylane an especially useful treatment is the area above the nose and between the brows where I had a nasty line, which curled upwards onto my brow and was not even straight! The injections blend that away completely and as a result of being treated with Restylane I feel like I look about five or six years younger than I would look if I had not undergone this treatment!
